SDET / QA Automation Lead

Apply

About the Product and Environment

  • We build an ITSM / ITAM solution offered both as a SaaS platform and an on-premise deployment.
  • Our engineering team is around 30 people, and our system is a mix of legacy components and newer services as we continue modernizing toward a .NET-based architecture.
  • Today, our testing approach includes some automation, but it is not yet where we want it to be. A significant portion of regression testing is still manual, which slows down release cycles.
  • This role is key to improving that — helping us expand and stabilize our automation so we can ship faster and with more confidence.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

  • Take ownership of our test automation approach and evolve it into a more structured, scalable system.
  • Build on existing automation by improving reliability, expanding coverage, and introducing clear patterns and best practices.
  • Increase automated coverage of critical user journeys.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Work closely with the QA team and support their transition toward automation.

Tech Stack and Tools

  • Platform: .NET.
  • Automation framework: Playwright, TypeScript.
  • AI-assisted development: GitHub Copilot and similar.

Team Collaboration and Mentorship

  • You'll work closely with our QA team, which is currently more focused on manual testing.
  • Part of your role will be to support the team in growing their automation skills — through collaboration, code reviews, and sharing best practices.
  • This is a hands-on role where you lead by example rather than through formal management responsibilities.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Experience building and maintaining automated test frameworks
  • Solid coding skills (TypeScript or similar)
  • Ability to work hands-on in an environment where automation is still developing

Important:

  • Experience with Playwright, or willingness to adopt it as the primary tool
  • Comfort working with AI-assisted development tools

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience mentoring QA engineers transitioning into automation

What success looks like

In your first months, you will:

  • Establish a clearer structure and direction for test automation
  • Improve coverage of critical user flows
  • Reduce the time and effort required for regression testing
  • Help QA team members grow their automation capabilities

Conditions

  • Fully remote, 40-hour work week without overtime. Flexible schedule.
  • Competitive salary with regular reviews.
  • Service contract agreement, work from any country.
  • Education budget — courses, conferences, and training are covered.
  • We're looking for someone for the long term — a person who wants to build a serious product, not just complete tasks.

Note: We carefully review each application and consider candidates whose experience aligns with the requirements outlined in this posting. If your background does not match the listed qualifications, we respectfully ask that you refrain from applying, as we are unable to move forward with applications that fall outside the scope of this role.
