Responsibilities

An international company specializing in the development, production and maintenance of oil production equipment and is the world leader in ESP production. The offices are located in 15 countries around the world, where major client groups are represented.

They are looking for a Network Engineer who will be responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring and managing the organization’s local and broadband networks to ensure maximum user time.

This candidate can be in any country of the Western Hemisphere - Canada, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
  • Installing, configuring and supporting network equipment including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, DNS and DHCP
  • Procuring network equipment and managing subcontractors involved with network installation
  • Configuring firewalls, routing and switching to maximize network efficiency and security
  • Maximizing network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting
  • Arranging scheduled upgrades
  • Investigating faults in the network
  • Updating network equipment to the latest firmware releases
  • Reporting network status to key stakeholders

Requirements

Routing &Switching:

- Knowledge of Cisco L2/L3 switches and routers product lines over the past 15 years and their features;

- On Cisco equipment - setup, maintenance, settings changes, troubleshooting etc.;

- Knowledge of VLAN, Spanning Tree, LACP, HSRP/VRRP/GLBP, VRF, 802.1x technologies, knowing to work with it;

- Routing protocols: OSPF, BGP. Understanding routing principles.

Telephony:

- Knowledge of IP telephony principles, experience in troubleshooting;

- Experience with telephony on Cisco equipment: CUCM, CUCME, Asterisk, working with city lines: POTS, TDM, SIP;

- Knowledge of Cisco, Avaya, Yealink equipment.

Video conferencing:

- Knowledge of general VCS principles;

- Experience with Polycom equipment is a plus;

Security: 

- Knowledge of VPN technologies: site-to-site, DMVPN, Webvpn, general understanding of ISAKMP, IPSEC;

- Experience with access lists, inspect, NAT;

- Knowledge of ASA firewalls;

- Understanding RADIUS.

Maintenance and monitoring:

- Knowledge of *nix operating systems;

- Experience with any of the popular network monitoring systems;

- SNMP, Syslog, etc.
