An international FinTech startup is looking for an experienced CFO with fluent Chinese and Russian languages.
Responsibilities
- Operate the accounts of the company.
- Manage daily finance operations and budget management including cash management(receipts, disbursement, funds availability and funds transfers),liquidity forecasting, and optimizing working capital.
- Oversee relationships with financial institutions, negotiate banking terms, and manage bank accounts.
- Manage corporate taxes.
- Develop and implement finance strategies to mitigate financial risk and enhance profitability.
- Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure organizational efficiency.
- Monitor financial market conditions and recommend appropriate hedging strategies.
- Prepare and present financial reports, forecasts, and analyses to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies related to treasury activities.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with all departments within the company to support finance matters
- Work closely with management of the company to ensure effective communication and coordination on finance matters.
- Engage with external auditors and advisors as needed for treasury-related matters.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Contribution to overall financial performance and profitability.
- Achievement of cash flow targets and liquidity ratios.
- Accuracy and timeliness of finance transactions.
- Effectiveness of hedging strategies in reducing financial risk.
- Cost optimization (e.g., reduction in bank fees, interest expense savings, etc.).
- Timeliness and quality of financial reporting related to finance activities.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards across all operations.
Requirements
Educational Background:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field. Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 5-10 years of progressive leadership experience in corporate finance / treasury, with at least 2 years in an executive-level role.
- Experience in managing finance / treasury operations in Asia-Pacific markets, particularly in China/Shanghai, is advantageous.
- Experience in FinTech would be an advantage but not required
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in financial risk management, cash flow forecasting, and treasury systems (e.g., SAP Treasury, Kyriba).
- Strong understanding of financial instruments and hedging techniques.
- Strong understanding of payment processing and international payment solutions business.
Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across teams and levels.
- Strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities, with a focus on driving results and continuous improvement.
Language Proficiency:
- Proficiency in English and Chinese is required. Ability to communicate effectively in both languages, both verbally and in writing.
